Business Challenge

Bank BelVEB faced new strategic objectives aimed at enhancing the remote banking systems for individuals:

• Development of alternative mobile solutions to provide maximum availability and independence from app store policies.
• A complete upgrade of the web platform to improve usability and performance.
• Creating a microservice architecture for application flexibility and scalability.
• Improving interaction with the processing center.
• Improving the user interface design.
• Reducing development costs.

Project Overview

Vebtech took on the challenge of creating a finance tool for Bank BelVEB– a Progressive Web Application (PWA). Our team developed PWA for mobile banking that delivers a native-like experience without requiring users to download from an app store.




PWA has a number of advantages: it can be installed directly from the website, bypassing app stores, loads only the necessary pages, making it lightweight and high-performance. Users get an experience close to a native application, but without the need for installation. The microservice architecture provides the flexibility to scale, upgrade and maintain the system, which is critical for today's digital products.




Throughout this 12-month project, we worked closely with the customer's team to optimize business processes, which increased efficiency and improved customer experience.

Development Process

The team followed a classic Agile approach, planning development two weeks in advance and providing the customer with a progress report at the end of each iteration. Changes were made early in the development stages to ensure the product met the client's requirements fully.

Project Results

The first version of the PWA application was successfully launched in 2023 and is actively being developed and scaled to include more features. The new design has been well-received by users, offering a modern, user-friendly interface that enhances interaction with the product. The application now supports all expected modern functionalities, allowing users to remotely authorize, open and manage accounts, handle cards, loans, deposits, and more.
